It is proposed to remove the last sentence in Chapter 1,
Introduction, of the PNG specification, which reads:

    PNG is pronounced "ping".

Rationale:

    1.  Persons unfamiliar with the PNG specification are
likely to use the "P N G" pronunciation.

    2.  The word "ping" is difficult to pronounce in some
languages.  We wish to foster internationalization of PNG.

If this change is approved, MNG and JNG will follow suit.
